Cant get official Apple test videos into itunes or any mp4

I am using Apple test video files, I got from apple here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1425

I cant get any video into iTunes.

When I try to drag the video into my ipod I get a pop up saying

"video name.mp4" was not copied because it cannot be played on this ipod

I tried everything I could find online..

Can someone help?

I am using an IPOD Classic.
