Files, PDF-docs, attached to my email, Macbook Pro, are missing

The files, PDF-docs, that I attach to my mail, Macbook Pro OS 10.7.5., are missing when the receiver opens the mail.

In this case the receiver is a MS Windows/Office user.

Weird problem! Any idea for how to solv this?
