I've got an old 2nd gen AirPort Extreme that I just replaced with a new one and was wondering if it is possible to disable wifi on the old one and only use Ethernet and USB ports?
The AirPort Extreme will behave just like an Ethernet switch if it is configured to operate in Bridge Mode, and the USB port is enabled in this type of setup as well.
Bridge mode would disable NAT but wouldn't wifi still be active?
From your original question, I assumed that you were planning to turn the WiFi off.
If you did not, then the wireless radio would still be active.
Bridge Mode would disable DHCP as well as NAT.
Thanks. After I took a closer look I found the setting to turn off wifi.
