I got an new ipad2 and when I opened it all the writting on front screen is in Chinese ( even the 2 boxes at bottom which you need to press English) but as I can't read Chinese I don't know what to do next please advise

HI thanks for getting back so soon but I can't get passed the first screen all I can do is swipe the bar at bottom then it's says welcome in all languages they is 2 boxes at bottom ( which on Internet say press the English ) but I can't cause they are in Chinese so I don't know which to press I am getting nowhere
Tap on the Settings icon.
Tap on the 6th option from the top. It should be General.
Scroll al the way to the bottom, and tap on the 3rd option from the bottom. That shoud be International.
Tap the first option: Should be Language.
Look for English in the List. Tap it and then Tap the blue button on the top right corner.
That should change the iPad language to English.

I used Google Translate to do this. See if one of these looks like way you are seeing on the iPad
noun: 英語, 英文, 英國人
adjective: 英國人的
verb: 英國化
I will have a look after see if I can see it there I have to get kids to bed now thanks again and I will let you know

At the Welcome screen, tap the bottom box (that literally means To choose a different language, tap here). Choose your preferred language.
