!!HELP!! I can't sync my iPhone to my laptop since I got iTunes 11

Can anyone help? If I go on <File-Devices> the sync icon is greyed out, and the <Sync now> button is greyed out on my iPhone

I've deteled and reinstalled (didn't work)
I've downloaded the last version (couldn't open the library because I had played music on the newer version [something like that]

I don't know what else to do and I'm at my wits end
Please help before I thrown it all out the window even if it's to help me get the last version working again

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

Erase and reset all settings on your phone Erase and reset all settings on your phone Erase and reset all settings on your phone Erase and reset all settings on your phone Erase and reset all settings on your phone.

What I did, was kept the USB cable connected to the phone, opened iTunes, then reset all settings on the iPhone.

As I already had a backup on the computer, I restored from my backup, and hey...Ho, it started to sync my music library....at last.

So that was.. (iPhone settings) (general) (reset) (erase all content and settings)

All done with iTunes on, and phone plugged into USB slot.

I was going around and around in huge circles before deciding to try this.

Hope this can sort at least 1 phone out.
