upgrade to 10.5: how do I restore preferences (Safari, Mail, etc)?

Good evening.

I as unable to do the quick upgrade 10.4.11 -> 10.5, so I resorted to the "Archive and Install" option.

How do I restore the my preferences from various applications (Apple and non-Apple) for use in 10.5?

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your reply.

I got the blue screen after trying the simple upgrade option, so I progressed to the A&I option (with "Preserve user and network settings" option checked).

At the other end of the A&I, I have the new system installed with all applications, but none of the preferences, documents, pictures, or contents of other folders came out the other end.

Luckily, I do have a backup.

Where would I find the things like Safari bookmark list?

Nice day here in VT.
