setting up and loading songs for somebody else

HI

A friend has brought an Ipod NANO gen7 for her husband. She wants me to set it up and add songs etc so she can give as a xmas gift, obviously I cant use his computer to do this, how will I go about it on my computer, so that when he loads it on his computer he doesnt wipe everything.
