unresponsive keyboard/trackpad after hibernate/sleep 1.8.2

Three mornings in a row my Macbook Air is trackpad and keyboard are unresponsive when coming out of hibernate. Recent changes and patterns are installation of Jelly Defense which I was playing each night before closing the top of my MBA for the day, and an upgrade to iTunes 11 which was open at the time I closed the lid of the mac as well.

The keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive but the cursor blinks and the mouse cursor is presnet. The only thing I can do is tap the power button then the MBA goes back into sleep. I eventually give up and hold down the power button to force the MBA to reboot.

Any thoughts as to the cause and how to prevent this issue in the future?
