Podcast is not connecting to iTunes

Podcast is not connecting to iTunes

When we had to take our web servers offline for maintenance our connection to podcast on iTunes got disconnected.

I was told to make a slight change to the title in the rss file which and did and that it could take a few weeks for it to update in iTunes.

It's now been a few weeks a it's still not connecting. I attempted to make another change in the title and I'm hoping it will connect soon.

Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do.

There is a fatal error in your feed. Two lines below your first 'item' tag you will see

You need a capital D in the closing tag. This error is rendering the feed unreadable. You have the same error in all these tage in the other episodes.

You should also note a couple of minor, though not fatal, errors:

Business & Investments is not an iTunes category, and Education is not a sub-category of Business. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:

You have two 'link' tags in the top section of the feed (before the first 'item' tag) - the second is redundant.

Thanks Roger! I will make the changes.

Do you think once I make these changes it will link up to iTunes?

On the new version of iTune, how can I test my feed?

To test your feed, choose 'Subscribe to Podcast' from the File menu. It works once you get the pubDates fixed.

I have iTunes 11 (on Mac) and that's what the screenshot is from: the menu is in the System's menubar at the top of the screen. If you have Windows I would have expected it to be part of the iTunes window but I can't advise on that - you would have to ask in the iTunes for Windows forum: but every program has a File menu, at least on a Mac.

When I go to the rss feed now in FireFox, I see the episodes..

But would I see the episodes in iTunes when I subscribe or do I have to wait until Apple reconnects?

When you subscribe in the iTunes application you will see the episodes immediately as it reads ther feed directly. The Store will take a couple of days to catch up. Did you find the menu yet?
