Unable to connect to wifi on iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

My wifi on my iPhone 4S has been dropping off for the past couple of days quite often and now the wifi switch in settings in greyed out so I can't turn it on or off. It's only 4 months old so I feel quite disappointed. Does anybody have any suggestions please?
