I lost all my calender events when I deleted my Icloud acct. I do not want to use Icloud anymore.
I tried to use time machine but got this message
“iCal” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X.
is there anyway to get my events back?

You haven't deleted your iCloud account, you've just deleted it from your devices. Sign back in using your Mac and you can recover it.

Thanks, is there any other way so that I would not have to turn on Icloud. I would rather not use it at this point.
When I sign in it wants me to check the boxes of the apps I want to use with it.
Never tried this, but you may be able to log in at iCloud.com share the calendars with yourself, then either move each event to a different calendar or export the calendar and import it into a new calendar.
Turn iCloud back on, select Calendars, archive the calendar locally using iCal, sign out of iCloud.

But didn't that involve logging into iCloud again.
yes, it did . but I could not get the share idea to work, was to confusing. I made a big mess.
But at least ICloud is off for now.
