hi Allan, sorry I think I didn't explain myself properly.
I have a macbook 2009 with a 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2gb ram, I have mac osx 10.7.5 (lion)
I have unpdated itunes a week ago and before that with the previous version EVERYTHING was working properly. I have a library on an external hd of 1 tb, the size of this library is just short of 400 gb about 50,000 songs. The hd is functioning well and as I said even with a library of this size the previous version of itunes was warking fine and quite fast when searching.
With the new version everything is also working (or at least it seams so far) Yes it is sligly slower when passing from albums to authors for example but it is working, the problem starts when I search for something, if I type just bb for example its takes a good 10 seconds before it opens up a list ... if I then type op or whatever else it will take a little longer but evntually it will produce a list, but when I type S for sting for example the little chromatic sphere begins to spin and it never stops untill I force quit Itunes. I know all this sounds strange, I tried to search for Sting or anything beguinning with s as the first search as itunes opened up again and it got stuck again, I repeated the same thing several times and it keeps crushing but as I force quit it it will not give any error message nor when I open it up again. There is nothing wrong with my keyboard and I do not know where to get a crash log the only thing I could find is this:

I hope you can give me some feedback on this as I do not quite understand those messages apart from maybe this one 'Impossibile caricare il plugin 'Quartz Composer Visualizer' a causa dell'incorretto tipo di CPU per questa versione di iTunes. (3585)' which means what? I have to revert back to previous version ?or maybe updating to Mountain Lion will solve it? pleeeease help ! thanks
p.s. sorry that last line in english means 'the loading of Quarz Composer Visualizer plugin is impossible due to incorrect type of CPU for this version of iTunes (3585)'
