Timeout waiting for IOKit to be quiet?

Once in a while I have to wait 5-10 minutes for my MacPro to boot up to the log in screen. I've seen other threads about this on the web, but seems to mostly from HankinMac's...aka PC's running OSX. I have a newer 12 core MacPro running 10.7.5 with the HW RAID card. The logs show this event...12/5/12 2:46:04.285 PM hidd: Timeout waiting for IOKit to be quiet Whats weird is most of the time this delay does not happen.

Any ideas?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), Apple RAID Card, 24GB RAM,

No it is not just Hackintosh.

Tehre is the issue of your Apple POS RAID controller, and what drives are attached? where is the OS? get the OS onto its own non-RAID drive.

Make sure to unplug everything.

Try safe boot.

change startup disk off and then back. But clone the system and try that too (or first).

Might, more like voodoo, try SMC reset.

And try w/o the Apple RAID.
