iPhone texting problem

I have 2 iPhones (my wife's and mine) tied to the same itunes account. When I text from my phone it now is labeled HER gmail.com email account. My carrier cannot figure the problem. Is this itunes or a carrier problem? Help! Thanks

This is what happens when iMessage is turned on and two different devices share the same Apple ID.


Either turn off iMessage or use different Apple ID's on each device for iCloud/iMessage.
