I've been trying to restore my iPod Classic (120G) for months now... Please Help

I've been trying to restore my iPod Classic (120G) for months now and it's at the point where it keeps saying it's in recovering mode and when I hit "restore" iTunes tells me that the iPod is corrupt and I have no idea where to go from here... Please help
