Notes sync with Outlook on Windows broken in iTunes 11

Since the option to sync Notes using iTunes was removed with the latest version, my Outlook 2003 on Windows XP no longer syncs notes with my iPhone at all. It was working fine before the latest iTunes upgrade broke it. I do not have any blank notes. Can anyone please help?
