Can't Purchase from iTunes store (India) using master card

As iTunes music store was recently launched in India (4-Dec-2012)

I was really excited about that.

But, when i clicked on buy button, it took me to the "Edit Payment Information".

Earlier I had selected "None" in payment method.

Then I changed the payment method to "master-card" and filled in the necessary details, after clicking the "Done" button it gave me an error

It turned out to be that the apple app store only accepts credit cards. Where as the above error only occurred when I tried to register a debit card.
