My new Apple TV works fine but turns off Home sharing at regular intervals. This requires me to re-enter my itunes password and start over again. It is not my computer. I've checked and home share is still on in itunes. Any advice on where I should look?

I just installed Apple TV. Works fine but turrns itself off at regular intervals of about 30 minutes. This requires me to re-enter my Apple ID and re-start all over again. Wjen I check iTunes on my computer, home sharing is still turned on. THis leads me to think the problem is in how I configured Apple TV on my HDTV. Any advice on where I should look?

THanks in advance.

Sorry Winston, I was not stating a fact. I just said it 'Seems' like everybody was having problems with homesharing.

Not being very computer savvy. I have done as much as I can..Reset my router, Re-installed iTunes and Apple Tv. Despite this Homesharing cuts out after 15 minutes.

The confusing part for me is films that I have purchased through iTunes work fine. So that's why I've not thought it's a problem with my network.

There are always a spate of problems after any update, it's often difficult to tell whether they are real problems or just the usual few. By real problems, I don't mean they aren't real for you, rather that they are specific to a few set ups rather than a general problem experienced by all. Since I haven't encountered such a problem myself, it's not possible to investigate, but it tends to tell me these few instances are isolated.

My initial thoughts would be that a network or security setting either on your computer or your router are at odds with those expected by the Apple TV, or that something on your computer is conflicting with the new version of iTunes.

Problem is all routers have differences and users will have different software on their computers, it often takes other users to discover fixes to their own problems and post them here to help in such circumstances.

I have had no luck. After an hour with phone tech support I have re-installed the current Apple TV software update., re-booted the entire system three times., checked each of my two Airport Express's.,unplugged and re[plugged in every cable, ad infinitum, ad nauseum and still no luck. I have also decided iTunes 11 *****. Not near as intuitive especially with regard to moving stuff around between my playlists, etc.

Alright guys, is this a problem because of iTunes 11? Is Apple releasing stuff before adequate debugging? Did Steve take his high standards with him?
