I was just sent a new iPhone 4 from Verizon because the lock button on the other phone was stuck. After I was sent my new phone, I made sure that my old iPhone 4 was backed up to my laptop. After that, I thought that I could plug my new iPhone into my iTunes and I could hit sync, thinking it'd put all of the stuff from my old iPhone onto the new one but it didn't. This is really frustrating because now nothing is coming up in my new iPhone but the apps. Please help!

You only get one shot to restore a new phone from a previous phone's backup. That's why you have to start from scratch to have that option again.

To restore your new phone from the backup of your old phone, at this point, will require starting over. On your new phone: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Should take but a few minutes, then follow the directions here:
