G5 OR iMAC to use FCPX?

Hi, just about to load the FCPX trial onto one of my work macs and I just wanted to find out which machine will run it better. I know you can license it on 10 machines but I would just like to know, with the following specs:

G5:

MAC OSX v 10.4.11

Dual 2 GHx Power PC G5

2.5 Gb DDR SD-Ram

Has 2 drives, one 232 Gb, one 152.7 Gb actual capacity

iMAC:

Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS 512 MB

Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)

Mountain Lion OS

The G5 cannot run FCP X. This is Intel only and requires a fairly recent mac, with enough RAM - and, importantly, a supported graphics card. Your iMac should work, as per the list of compatible cards here:

The best thing to do is to try it for yourself. Download the fully functional free trial (it works for 30 days) and use it. Also, to get to know the application (which is awesome, but does have a learning curve), I suggest you follow some good video tutorials, like the ones at izzyvideo.com:
