Mail 5.0-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7)
I tried to update my 2011 Macbook Air andgot the same error message there also. What can I do?
Should be an easy fix. You guys probably have another user logged in, which has iTunes open. Close it from those accounts.
Fixed now?
Wooaaah!!! THANK YOU!!!
It worked on both my macs. I just logged out other users and then ran the update and it worked fine 🙂.
Thank you very much,
CHEERS!
Now if only our stilly forum could finally fix their broken image hosting routines. Unfortunately that's something I can't help with.
Thnx, worked for me!
Worked for me, thanks!
Logout all other users - shame on you Apple .... truly the kind of usability issue that turned many of us onto Mac OS X from Windows. How hard is it to loose the cryptic code and explain what the user can do - or better offer to kick them out? 😮
Couldn't they just said that?!
Thanks, it worked like a charm! I've been stuck there for days if not weeks.
You don't actually have to logout all other users. Only iTunes has to be close in all other accounts.
In this way you can preserve other users opened applications so no work is lost.
Apple is usually good at putting up messages rather than error messages. It would definitely help if they just post a message for 3072 that states, please log out other users before doing upgrade.... This was VERY helpful. BUT took awhile to find ...
Last time I had this problem a few months, I put in a service call. Apple helped me to manually download the upgrade and apply it. It would have been so much easier to have the message or for them do say, "did you log out the other users?" or "did you close iTunes for other users?"...
Cheers
and Thanks
