AddressBookSourceSync, iCloud connection problems

I posted in a similar thread but haven't gotten any responses.

AddressBookSourceSync comes on and slows my Macbook Pro down to almost a stop. I turned off the 'Contacts' portion in my iCloud System Preferences to cease the problem temporarily but that sparked somethign in the Activity Monitor called (can't remember 100% of name) 'iCloud.connection....' that ALSO slowed things down quite a bit.

'AddressBookSourceSync' chews up about 5gb of my 8gb of memory when it's running and the 'iCloud.connection...' thing chews up almost as much.

This causes other apps that are open to show 'not responding' in the Activity Monitor too, have to force close everything.

I have an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for this Saturday but wanted to see if anyone could give me some insight into what's going on?

Could this have to do with the number of contacts?

Please shed some light if you could as I'm tired of seeing spinning beach balls and computer slowing to craaawwwl.

Thanks

The next time you have the problem, note the exact times when it starts and ends: hour, minute, second.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.

Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Post any messages timestamped during that interval – the text, please, not a screenshot.

When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.

Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

Any help would be great. Uses about 13GB of RAM and CPU 100%.

Went to the Genius Bar. Guy saved all my contacts then went to -/library/Application Support and trashed the folder titled 'Address Book'. It's title this even though it's for 'Contacts' (which is weird and he couldn't give me a good reason why but I digress...) and this apparantly worked.

'Contacts' is not taking up more than 162mb of Real memory as opposed to the 4-5gb it WAS taking.
