It is a free app with inapp purchase option.
I tested it to see if it would be a worthwhile easy to use organizational app for my 11yr old and my partner. I use another app altogether for my organizing needs. So after testing it I wanted to buy it for them, but not myself. But since I did not buy it there is no option for gifting it. No it is probably not new, just not something I have attempted to do before, so I never came across the problem, and couldn't figure out what the issue was until you asked if it was a free one or $ one. The 11yr old is not interested in using his hard earned gift cards to acquire an app for organization LOL, so I was trying to find an easy solution... which appears to be to buy it with my partners account and gift it to the kid- so THEY will have the app and I won't. Minor issue, kinda simple answer- one of the minor frustrations of the inability to share apps across devices- especially in families. But the kid doesn't need my database app and I don't need his insane collection of games, so no 'family account' dance with iTunes.
Thanks again- hope I cleared up both of our confusions!
