where is itunes version number

Thanks for the 'show menu'--I'd missed that.

Previous to posting I googled the 'roll back' ? and found an article that describes the process in great detail. I'm wondering if that detail is necessary.

For example,

1. Before uninstalling 'move your library so as to replace it after the reinstall'

2. Before installing the previous version, 'You will need to uninstall "iTunes," "QuickTime," "Apple Software Updater," "Apple Mobile Device Support," "Bonjour" and "Apple Application Support."

Does this make sense or would the install of the previous version automatically cause the uninstall of the preceding (still having to move/save the library)?

On the linked the installer page there are two links--Apple and Windows iTunes.

However, below the links are:

I'm running Win7 64 bit--can I assume that the plain Windows installer link above the 'SHA1' information doesn't care whether your Win7 install is 32 or 64 bit?

After uninstalling iTunes + associated applications, installing the prior iTunes version--

1. Can I assume that all associated applications will automatically present for installation except for Quicktime?

2. How do I determine the correct version of Quicktime for the rolled back iTunes version and where would I find that download?

Regarding iTunes Folder Watch --

I save all my sounds (I only do sounds whether tunes or mediation tracks--no video and not considering podcasts which iTunes handles okay by itself) under C:\MyStuff\a_iPAQ_Xfer-Desktop\SkyDrive\iPod Nano Music.

I then selectively import music music Folders into iTunes. It would appear that Folder Watch would automatically force a sync of ALL folders and defeat my selective ability?

There's a second separate problem I've run into that's similar in nature for which you all might have a solution. Periodically, a corruption or event requires deletion of all tunes loaded in iTunes and then reloading from the drive folders referenced above. After which I go through the 'remove duplicates process'. Has anyone come across a utility that works on a drive folder tree and will weed out all the duplicates thereby avoiding the continual process from within iTunes?

Thanks for the follow up on Folder Watch + your script--I'll revisit both later today.

I had a concerning thought and wish to clear any potential negative consequences before attempting the roll back. Since both my iPhone and iPod Nano have been synced post upgrade to iTunes11x, if I roll back iTunes to the just previous version mentioned in this thread, will there then be an incompatibility problem assuming 11x dropped some updated code to either of my synced devices?

I've renamed the active iTunes library .old, uninstalled all applications, rebooted and before I copy a previous library to the active directory and install the rollback iTunes--another question relating to the library concept.

I have 2 potentially date relevant previous libraries: \iTunes Library 2012-09-19.itl and \iTunes Library 2012-12-02.itl

There are 2 events that, IMO, would mitigate against using either library and rebuilding a new library.

The December library version was created after I upgraded to the current version of iTunes so wouldn't that disqualify it?

I had changed the drive location of my local tunes after the September library version so seemingly the September version would be pointing in the wrong direction and be useless?

So do we agree I'm installing iTunes and sans library and creating a library post install?

The iTunes file I downloaded doesn't look like any install file I've seen before...iTunes10.7.dmg

I double clicked the file and no executables were listed in the 7z compression contents.

What's the trick to installing this thing?

I think the download that I got from the 'upper right' button must be a Mac file--at least that's what google seems to report.

I've downloaded 10.7 for Windows using the link on the main page.
