If you uninstalled the application (which I guess means to moved it to the trash), you should reinstall, then run the updater.
Also... Can you clarify what version you were trying to update from?

thanks for your response. I have iWork '09 and I bought it through the apple store. The problem is when I tried to download the application again from the store the launchpad shows an icon with the label waiting and nothnig happen.
I really don't know how to proceed.

Hi Wayne, i did what you have recommended and works on the other user space. Finally I restored the numbers app file from the time machine and I can retrieved the application, then I updated to the last version.
