It says I have an update for pages but when I try to download it tells me I have sign in. Sign in where? I never got this before.

Software Update has always asked for your user name & password to update software, the name & password you use to sign into your Mac.
If you purchased Pages from the Mac App Store, sign in with the Apple ID & password you use to purchase from the Mac App Store.
Yes but it would already have my apple ID and just ask for a password. It's telling me to sign in. Sign in where? I'm already signed in or it wouldn't be able to tell me there is an update.

Could you post a screenshot of the message you're getting? That would help a lot in trying to figure out just what you're seeing.
Thanks, I finally figured it out. I changed my email address and couldn't figure out how to sign in with my apple ID account. Thanks for your patience!
