Did you try using the same library on your MBP as you did on your other Mac?  If so then it points ot the library as the culprit.

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. It you get to the order window you can always cancel the order.

Thanks for your prompt response! The book I tried to buy on my MBP was a completely different book. I did try the test iPhoto library and "Buy Book" froze with it too. The only thing I can think of is I processed these images in Lightroom and imported them as jpgs into iPhoto at 300 DPI all around 9x14. The same thing for the images I used on my MBP. Could the size of the images be an issur?

    Thanks

Then it sounds like a problem at the Apple end of the pipe.  Others have reported problems after initially reaching the order window.  I'd try again after several hours.

I will try again later. BUT...now that I switched back from my new test iPhoto library to my regualr iPhoto library, after I click on an event, then click on any image, the image will not come up. I have done a "Rebuild" and that did not fix that problem.

Did you try these three options in the rebuild window:  #1, #3 and #4, in that order?

Just found out that Apple is updating its printing services, know about the problem and are working on it. We'll have to  wait until they complete the repair.

I am still in need of a fix for my issue posted earlier today. I created a test iPhoto library as Old Toad suggested, but when I came back to my original iPhoto Library, I can see my thumb images, but when I open one the next window is blank. This is all throughout my enitre iPhoto library. I did "Rebuild Database" to no avail, no full size images, just thumbnails.

Did the test library work as it should have?  If so then your current library is the culprit.  So make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

    Fix #1

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

    iP93rebuild.PNG

Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

    Fix #2

Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library

1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.

2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.

3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.

4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.

5 - Click on the Create button.

Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
