Why are my messages out of order?

I receive messages in chronological order on my iPhone. Later when I turn on my MacBook and/or iPad and it connects to a network, I receive these previous messages, but they are never in chronological order... and yes all my stuff is updated to the latest updates.

iPad 2, iOS 6.0.1

Hi,

This seems to be a quirk either with the iMessages server and how it "syncs" the Chats or it is something about the app that does not utilise the Time Stamps of iMessages

At present there is no Fix.

HI Eric,

There is a setting in Messages on the Mac in the View Menu > Sort Conversations (By Time or Manually)

but this only effects the way they move to to the top in the left hand column if you have more than one chat going on.

It does not effect the order or IMs or iMessages.

IMs (from AIM or Jabber Buddies) do not seem to suffer with this issue and those messages (IMs) are Time Stamped as well.
