Clips not showing up in log and transfer from Panasonic AVCHD

I recorded video on a Panasonic AVCHD as DV 480/60i. When I attach the camera and try to log and transfer, the clips do not show up.

I also copied the entire file index from the camera to my hard drive and attempted to log and transfer from every folder and sub-folder from there, but I get an error message the says the files are unsupported media or invalid directory structure. I tried changing the log and transfer preferences to the other options and attemped again, same error. On my hard drive, the files show up as .avi, which I know is far from ideal for FCP (I've also found apps that convert these files, but they all cost money and I don't know how the quality will turn out).

Any suggestions on how to get my clips into Finalcut Pro? I am at a loss! Thank you!
