Yes. Drag them to the desktop and from there into the iPhoto library, or control-click them in Safari and choose Add Image to iPhoto Library.

Please excuse this reply, but I'm trying to fix a No Access goof up I did on my HD 😟, in which now I can't get my Power Mac G5 to reboot past the grey screen and spinning wheel. The article you once posted a while back in answer to another individual who had this problem is no longer available on the Apple forum. Do you still have that information available?
