Install Printer Help

I have a Snow Leapord and am trying to install a printer. I have now bought 3 different printers with no avail! I currently have the Epson Workforce 545. When I try to ➕ add printer it starts to download the drivers but crashes right before install. The disc that came with the printer also crashes. Had the same problem with all the other printers I have purchased. We are trying to connect via USB having given up on wireless awhlie ago.
