VPN password on iOS

I've recently had to use a VPN in order to have my iPad connect to my home wifi. I've configured the VPN on my iPad and iPhone, and it works fine. However, on my iOS devices, I must input a password each time before I can log in. In contrast, my iMac and MacBook Air store the password, making the connection a "one click" proposition. I realize the input do the password on the iOS devices might be a security precaution, but does anyone know how I could do a login on my iPad in a similar way to my Mac, I.e., just choose VPN and it connects from stored username and passwords? Or must I just accept that I must input a password each time in the name of security?

Well, the RSA setting didn't work, but I found out what I was doing wrong. Like a dummy, I left the password field blank when setting up the VPN configuration. Instead, the password field defaults to "ask every time", which what was happening to me not surprisingly. Once I filled in the password field and saved it, the VPN connects once I touch the connect button and does not ask for my password.
