I have no sound or the sound bar on my ipod or other apps like netflix or youtube. It says in connected to a dock connecter but im mot

I have no sound even when i use headphones. There is no sound bar on the ipod on my phone or apps like netflix or youtube. It says im connected to a dock connecter when im not. It goes on and off, the sound bar will come and go but recently it doesnt come back for hours it is gone right now and has been for an hour or two.
