I can't search by song in spotlight or the Music app?

Hello, I am having a problem with both the music app and spotlight search using the most updated iOS (6.0.1) on an iPhone 4S, coupled with the most recent version of iTunes. My iPhone is synced and up to date with my entire music library, but I am unable to search for music in any way using spotlight, and I can't search by song using the Music app. This wasn't always happening, and seems to have started with iOS 6. Please help! I've looked everywhere for an answer, but nothing.
