Not able to charge my new Ipod touch (5th Generation)

Hi, Help me on resolve this connection problem(PC <-> Ipod) I tried to charge my new ipod touch (5th generation) using new USB cable with my sony Vaio laptop, but its connecting and disconnecting continuously. The explorer popup shows up and disappears. Attached the Error Message popup
