How do I clear cache from safari 6.0.2

1. Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and select Show Develop menu in menu bar.

2. Go to Develop > Empty caches

Can you tell me why Safari 6.0.2 needs to be refreshed after most links open? Often it will not stay live but has that little curve with the arrow at the end.

where the **** is the develop button? got to the steps before that.
