WHAT IS MM?

I have received a gift of iPad 4th gen wifi with cellular 64GB, bought from abroad. I live in India. I cant figure out if it is free of any service carrier and work in Vodafone GSM unlocked service. Please help. I have not unpacked the item.

The "MM" designation indicates that the iPad is a CDMA/GSM/LTE model, sold in the US for use with Verizon or Sprint. It should work with any GSM carrier, but you may not be able to get the iPad serviced anywhere but in the country in which the iPad was sold since most countries do not have CDMA carriers and hence that model of iPad is not sold there. You may want to ask whoever gave you the iPad if they can return it and get you the A1459 (GSM/LTE) model which is more widely distributed.
