How do I reconnect my macbook pro to Messages?

When I downloaded Mountain Lion onto my MBP, I was able to connect to Messages on the laptop and cycle between answering on my laptop or phone. I had to change my password later though, and now my computer will not recognize my phone. I can't synchronize my phone number with my MBP messages. Any tips/solutions?

Hi,

Have you tried removing the Apple ID from the iPhone and then re-entering it (to add the new Password) ?

In the Messages app on the Mac have you used the Sign Out button to change the details ?
