best netgear router setup

i have a netgear wndr3400. in my house, i have 3 iphone 5's. A macbook air, a macbook pro, an ipad, and toshiba laptop, an apple tv, a ps3 and an xbox 360. I feel like my router keeps kicking me off my 5ghz router sometimes or i wouldn't be able to connect to it. i'd have to restart my router to bring it back to normal. never had to really do it before, so i'm wondering what could be the problem now. is there a setting on the router i should change? what is the optimum setting on these routers to make sure that they are functioning the way they should all the time?
