I dont have a credit card what should i do to skip the step with the credit card

That's great but it no longer works. I went in today to set up my daughters ipod touch and the NONE option no longer exists. It now says you have to have a credit card or gift card to set up an account. Any way artound this? Kids don't exactly have credit cards...

I had the same issue today so I purchased a $10 iTunes card, entered it, and the none option (which did not appear when I set up the account) suddenly appeared. It was worth the $10, which will be spent anyhow.

When ever people have reported this, it has been because they did not follow the aritcle exactly to detail. You must click on a FREE app as explained.

I WAS trying to click on a free app. The instructions in the article no longer work. They did back on christmas day when my older kids set up their own accounts, but it doesn't work anymore. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy some cheap giftcards.

The NONE button still doesn't appear after 11 months. I'm being told by Apple support that I can choose it but I've told whoever it is that isn't reading my emails that that choice isn't there.

My kid's school has drunk the iPad koolaid and is coercing students families and teachers to deal with this embedding campaign, but I'll be damned if I'm going to connect my credit cards to an iPad provided by a public school . . .

Then you oh lofty Level One bug-in-orbit, are not following the directions correctly, because it works every time that the instructions are followed to the T. I have tested these instructions many times, in many nation's stores and I get a None option every time.

The most common error is that folks ignore the fact that these instructions are for creating a new Apple ID, not for use with an existing Apple ID.

BTW, the credit card is not connected to the iPad. The credit card information does not appear and is not retained anywhere on the iPad. The credit card is connected with an iTunes/Mac App Store account only.
