How do you toggle through the items in the sidebar on the left.. Sometimes I feel like using the arrows works then sometimes it doesn't. I also noticed that some item were added there that I don't really want there. I went to drag it off.. and the icons used to 'poof' but.. they dont seem to now... 😢

I'm not sure I understand the question. The arrow keys will only work if you've previously had the files open that you wish to to go to. As clicking the arrow keys requires using the mouse, what's the point? You can just click directly on the sidebar shortcut.
As for removing items, from OS X 10.6.7 it's been necessary to hold down the command (⌘) key while dragging the alias off.
Yeah.. I don't like using the mouse.. it gives me carpal tunnel. There must be some function to get over there to the sidebar.
Not for the sidebar I'm afraid. It works within the folder once the sidebar alias has been selected.
Might I suggest a trackball? I use a logitech one with the trackball operated by the thumb. No wrist movement required.
