Q: iPod touch, Gen4, crashes iTunes when syncing.
iPod touch, Gen4, crashes iTunes when syncing. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled iTunes several times. Typically, iTunes crashes as soon as the "Backing up" stage of the sync process is completes. This was the case the first time this happened. However, there have been times when it doesn't even get this far.
Along with uninstalling/ reinstalling iTunes, I have attempted to "restore iPod" from the iPod menu. Bothe before and after erasing and resetting my iPod from the settings menu. As soon as the "Extracting Software" step of the "restore iPod" process is complete, I receive the same error message. That being: "iTunes has stopped working", and that "Windows will notify me when a solution is found".
I have thrown everything but th kitchen sink at this. I have been on the phone for at least an hour with Apple support on three seperate occasions. They have been completely useless and have offered no solutions. I have to drive an hour to the nearest Apple store, which is where I am headed this weekend. If anyone has any ideas, or can save me some hassle, I would appreciate it. Apparently the folks at Apple support are as inept and useless as Apple's software.
iPod touch, Windows 7, Usually crashes at backing up step.
