Upgrade to iso 5.1

I am giving my mother an iPad 1 iso 3.2.2 . She does not have a computer so will use it WiFi only. I want to upgrade it to iso 5.1 so she can play simple games. The iPad has been cleared and reset to factory settings. If I update it on my computer on my iTunes account will cause her any problems using WiFi?
