iTunes has become nearly unusable for me. I'm running the latest version on the latest MacBook Pro, with maxed out RAM, and the app just hangs. Over and over. Every day. Been like this for a couple of versions. I've trashed the plist file, etc., but it's a near-constant spinning beachball festival. And by 'festival' I mean '****'.
Has to be a solution out there... Anyone? Bueller?

I may have my answer already. In Prefs, I turned off, "Share details about your library with Apple."
Beachball H3LL has stopped.
Try going to the search window, activating the drop down menu, and unchecking "search entire library". Does that help?
Hmm. Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that. Still livin' in Beachball H3LL.
OMG thank you! I was getting like a full minute of beachball any time I tried to search. Unchecking "Search entire library" completely fixed that and search is instantly responsive for me. Phew.
