Why won't iTunes 11 import my home videos?

Everytime I drag a video into iTunes, it does nothing. Everytime I click on file>add file to library> and add my video, still, nothing happens. My videos have always been in the same standard MP4 videos that have previously been successfully imported into iTunes 10... please help me 😟
