Ever since I've updated my phone to ios 6.0.1, the volume level for my songs have dropped ... It's glaring but if i keep the volume level somewhere in the middle, I don't hear anything at all ....?? Is there something wrong with the phone or my headphones..?? I mean, it's just been two months ...

If you have checked all the volume controls and they are correct,and you have cleaned off your speakers, then try to reset your phone, hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up.

No, you will lose nothing at all. Its just a reset of the system, like a reboot of your computer.

Your welcome. A reset tends to fix alot of glitches that occur, so always try that first.
