ITUNES 11 INCOMPATIBLE WINDOWS 8

Lenovo

Pentium G645 2.90GHz

4 GB RAM

64 Bit

I recently downloaded and installed iTunes 11 64 bit on my new Lenovo computer. It installed with no problems. It does not launch. I went to file location to launch unsuccessfully. Troubleshooting program was unable to determine any issue. Per microsoft forum suggestion, cleared temp file and attempted to boot in safe mode unssuccesfully ( dont recall instruction...,ctrl or shift + s or something...could not locate on brief search). Could not open itunes to search help.

Itunes ran well in my previous install (XP, itunes 10.**).

I cannot find anything relevant. I would greatly appreciate any help in getting this thing going. Thanks.

I, too, have this problem. I have scoured the forums and still can not find anything to help. I have googled this problem, but still have not found any viable solutions. I have changed the compatibility. I have set it to run as administrator. I have done both at the same time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have even downloaded a previous version of itunes to run in compatibility mode and as admin, but that only worked for about 12 hours before I started getting the "itunes has encountered a problem and windows will have to close the program" message again. Personally, I find this highly irritating and blame both Apple and Microsoft for these problems. My computer is not even a month old, so I'm pretty sure it's nothing that I'm doing. I've complained to both apple and microsoft but it seems like to no avail. Someone, anyone please help!

i also just downloaded itunes and it won't play anything or let me add any items to libraries. just sits there and does nothing....totally ***** and apple wants me to pay $20 just to talk to them once about this issue! My pc is an ENVY and runs windows 8 also and it is brand new!! i was able to sync my ipod but it erased all old songs and won't let me add old library to the new one! Has there been any improvements on theses issues at all?
