serial number missing in Lion

After downloading Mountain Lion, I can no longer get serial number in About This Mac. any suggestions?

iPhone 4, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Call Apple Support - I would do that.

Anyways I had a different problem - Have a Serial number - but could not register. How ever according to apple - as long as have the receipt of purchase, and serial number you are eligible for warranty.

Thank you - but that was the main problem. I couldn't call Apple support about another problem, because they required my serial number. However, I just figured it out. When I clicked on the operating system, as in the past ,something apeared, but it wasn't the serial number. It seems that in Mountain Lion, you need to click AGAIN, and then the serial number appears.
