my 13 inch macbook air opens at about 160 degrees. what do i do?

as i was opening my laptop(first gen air) the other day, it kept opening all the way until the apple logo pretty much made contact with my desk. i was looking into it and came to the conclusion that its the hinges. so i was wondering how or where i can get this fixed? or if its covered by the manufacturer.

@ hector90:

I had the exact same thing happen to me last night to my macbook air (1st gen). It started with a crack in the hinge. Very frustrating. Even though the Macbook air 1st gens are out of warranty there is a hinge replacement program. Were you able to have apple replace your hinge free of charge in late 2012? The program is a little old & does not appear on the support page on apple's website. Just wondering if I should look into it further. I really hope they did the repair for you....would give me some hope. It seems like it would be such a shame to leave us in the dust, especially since the computers have been well taken care of up to this point.

Thanks in advance!
