can't delete apps

- If the apps came with the iOS like Safari they can't be deleted.

- Are Restrictions set to prevent deleting apps? Settings>General>Restrictions.

I have a similar problem, except the apps shake and the 'x's appear. When I press on the app that I want to delete, nothing happens. Instead my screen freezes & flashes and I have to reset my iPad to get back to my home screen!

I went to restrictions, and I pressed enable restrictions for all of the apps listed below (including delete apps). I believe I've deleted apps in the past.

What else can I do?

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I'm not sure I want to do this on my own. I'm afraid I'll reset and I'll forget how it was setup before!

I think I'm going to make an appointment with the 'Genius Bar' in a local store and have them do this for me. I'd feel a lot easier about it.

Another person told me to go to Manage apps and delete the app from there.....I haven't tried this yet.
